Candidate Bio
There is a lot to know about me as a person. I have a love for school activities and being active within the computer science community, I have a one and a half year old kitten named Roger, and I play for the UNB men’s rugby team. You will most often find me in one of the computer science lounges spending time with my friends. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time playing rugby, going snowshoeing, or, as you will hear from most CS students, playing video games.
Why do you want this position?
I am interested in being computer science councillor because after observing the amazing work of our previous councillor, I want to make sure that this work is continued and that my faculty will still have a strong voice to represent them. I plan to consult with members of my faculty as much as possible to make sure I am going by how my faculty feels about various topics, not my own personal feelings.
What is your history of involvement or leadership on campus?
I recently have gotten into one leadership position by becoming a peer mentor in the fall of 2018, and I must say that it is one of the best roles I could have asked for. I gained experience leading a small group of students within my faculty and I believe that I can use these skills to represent my entire faculty.
What unique skills or experience would you bring to the position?
I would say that the best skills that I bring to the table is my excitement and eagerness to make the UNB experience the best it can be for all students. This could be anything from campus life, to events, to services provided by the university. I want them all to be the best that they can be! So far I believe that our Student Union has done a great job of making this the case.
What is a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
A fun fact about myself is that I was born and raised my whole life right here in Freddy Beach and have always known that I wanted to go to UNB. I went to Leo Hayes High School on the north side and graduated in 2017. Another quick and fun fact about me is that I, like most people, am a huge fan of good ol’ memes.
