The Fredericton Police have provided updates regarding the homicide investigation at the Tannery. The police have made two more arrests — a 16-year-old youth (identity cannot be released due to YCJ Act), and an 18-year-old male, Tyler Totten, a hockey player with the Fredericton Red Wings of the MHL.
Three of them appeared in front of a judge on October 17 2024 and have been released under conditions.
Majority wants the accused to get harsh punishment, but there are a few people who do not want to see promising hockey players have his life ruined. Reddit user u/Emotional-Group-2213 commented on a post in subreddit r/fredericton regarding the investigation, “hopefully this won’t affect his ice time, he has been at a .5ppg pace so far this season. would really hate losing him…”
Perhaps this reads as sarcasm, or perhaps not. Should the justice system be lenient to them for killing a man because they have a “bright future”?
