The Pathy Family Foundation and Coady Institute have announced that the Pathy Foundation Fellowship is now open to students from every university in Canada. This fellowship provides a 12-month experiential-learning program in youth leadership and community engagement. Each year, up to 12 selected fellows receive comprehensive training, extensive support, and up to $50,000 in funding to support their growth as community leaders.
The Pathy Foundation Fellowship is the only program in Canada that offers young people a fully-funded opportunity to dedicate a year of their early career to a project they are passionate about: in any field, sector, or community worldwide.
“The Pathy Foundation Fellowship was established as a program for Canadian students to develop as leaders by investing themselves in a community and initiative that they are passionate about,” said Pathy Family Foundation Executive Director Michelle LeDonne. “We feel that this program has a lot to offer, and we are proud to extend eligibility to youth across the country so that, true to its values, this program is inclusive and accessible to students who have the curiosity and desire to embark on this journey.”
Over the past nine years, 84 recent graduates from Bishop’s University, Carleton University, McGill University, Queen’s University, St. Francis Xavier University, and the University of Ottawa have participated in the fellowship, working on transformative projects in communities across Canada and beyond. These projects have ranged from environmental conservation efforts to social justice initiatives, showcasing the diverse interests and passions of the fellows. The 10th Cohort will be the first to welcome young leaders from any university in the country, broadening the scope and impact of the program.
Applications for the Pathy Foundation Fellowship are now open. Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents under 30 who are full-time students in their final year of studies may be eligible to apply. The selection process is designed to identify individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to their chosen project and the potential to create meaningful change in their communities.
Successful applicants will receive comprehensive support throughout the fellowship year, including mentorship from experienced practitioners, access to a network of motivated peers, and opportunities for professional development. This support system is intended to help fellows navigate the challenges of their projects and maximize their impact.
