Emilia Mikanovich from the Saint Mary’s Huskies women’s volleyball team is the Atlantic University Sport Female Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 2, 2025.
A third-year biology student from Minsk, Belarus, Mikanovich was named Championship MVP of the Bell AUS Women’s Volleyball Championship hosted this past weekend at Saint Mary’s.
In Saturday’s Game 1 win over the Memorial Sea-Hawks, Mikanovich scored 16.0 points on 16 kills, seven digs, and two assists.
In Sunday’s game two win, Mikanovich scored 8.5 points on six kills, two aces, a block and 10 digs.
Over five Huskies playoff games, she averaged 15.5 points on 13.4 kills, 11 digs, 1.8 service aces, and an assist per game.
Mikanovich and the Huskies will now represent the AUS at the 2025 U SPORTS national championship, which will be held March 14-16 in Winnipeg, Man.

Clara Gascoigne from the Saint Mary’s Huskies women’s basketball team is the Atlantic University Sport Female Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 2, 2025.
A fifth-year guard from Dartmouth, N.S., Gascoigne was named Championship MVP of the Bell AUS Women’s Basketball Championship held this past weekend in Halifax.
In Saturday’s semifinal win over the Cape Breton CAPERS, Gascoigne was named Player of the Game, dropping a game-high 24 points and adding eight assists, four rebounds and four steals in the Huskies 89-58 victory.
In Sunday’s final win over the UPEI Panthers, Gascoigne scored 18 points, adding five assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Over the two games, she averaged 21 points, 6.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals, to lead the Huskies to their third straight AUS Championship. She was also named a tournament all-star for her efforts.
Gascoigne and the Huskies will now represent the AUS at the U SPORTS Final 8 Women’s Basketball Championship, which will be hosted March 14-16 by the UBC Thunderbirds in Vancouver.

Kamari Scott from the UPEI Panthers men’s basketball team is the Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 2, 2025.
Scott was named Championship MVP of the Bell AUS Men’s Basketball Championship hosted this past weekend in Halifax after leading the Panthers to their first conference title since 2002-03.
In Saturday’s 74-68 semifinal win over the Cape Breton CAPERS, he had 17 points, nine rebounds and an assist.
On Championship Sunday, Scott led the way with a team-high 24 points, to go along with seven rebounds, an assist and a steal. In addition to tournament MVP nods, he was named Player of the Game in the final, and a tournament all-star.
UPEI now advances to the U SPORTS Final 8 Men’s Basketball Championship being held March 14-16 in Vancouver, B.C.
