Absolute Losers have released an incredible new album, In the Crowd, that fans of upbeat rock everywhere should be excited to hear, with a sound similar to The Beatles and The Strokes. The PEI based band is made up of Josh Langille, Sam Langille, and Daniel Hartinger, who have worked their way up the Canadian music scene, most recently travelling all the way to Toronto to release their second album on 26 September 2025. Featuring 12 songs with a total play time of 37 minutes and 40 seconds, In the Crowd highlights the band’s favorite themes and the ideas they are passionate about singing, as mentioned by Daniel Hartinger via a Range Studio magazine feature.

From the first song “At The Same Time” to the last track, “Understanding,” lyrics reflect a deeply personal version of the band members. It is riddled with both nostalgia for past relationships and the inevitability of life within community—of being surrounded by others every step of the way. Absolute Losers now focus on writing lyrics that are down-to-earth and drawn from their own experiences, making their songs more relatable to listeners.

The album closes with a bittersweet yet euphoric vibe in “Understanding,” which asks, “What is it you’re here for? A misunderstanding.” The lyrics provide a personal answer to the questions the album raises as a whole, allowing each listener to interpret it based on their own personal experiences.

Absolute Losers maintain a consistent rock style, now fully embracing a ‘90s-inspired sound influenced by The Beatles, as noted in the same Range Studio magazine feature. All twelve songs feel more polished than their previous foray, likely influenced by their move from a basement to a professional studio, which heightens the overall technical listening experience.

These new perspectives may have come out of The Losers’ growing success. Since releasing their two debut singles, “Coexist” and “Astray,” in May 2021, and playing with other talented bands and attending festivals, The Absolute Losers have evolved as artists. With many more shows and experiences ahead, the band is set to move forward with the creation of engaging, high-quality music.

Expressed through heartfelt lyrics and catchy beats, In the Crowd is an album that perfectly captures the disharmony between craving relationships, dealing with them, and eventually moving on. It also stands as proof of the Absolute Losers’ hard work and passion for music, and of the bright path ahead for them.

A must-listen for anyone drifting through life, find In the Crowd on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and Tidal.
