St. Thomas University has hired Fredericton’s Cox and Palmer law firm in response to a formal complaint about the UNBF & STU Confessions and Compliments Facebook page.
Last Monday, a student filed a complaint to the presidents of both UNB and STU. Jeffrey Carleton of St. Thomas communications began seeking legal advice with the president of the university shortly after.
Matt Kelly, the admin of the page and computer science student at UNB, said that no such complaints were filed.
“I talked to UNB too. I haven’t gotten a complaint from the UNB side. But I’m going to head over to STU and stop this now,” Kelly said.
Kelly also said that Sara Rothman, senior director of academic success at UNB, was who told him no complaints were made.
“Well I guess I will have to take it [the page] down,” Kelly said.
UNB has not responded yet and it is unclear whether or not they will be hiring any lawyers in regards to the page.
