What are you up to this Valentine’s Day? Rubbing your partner’s chilly feet in front of a fireplace drinking wine? Listening to Radiohead in the car crying all alone? Getting drunk and going out to dance your face off?
Or maybe this year you could hit up a different kind of shindig.
Connexion Artist-Run Centre is throwing a curio kind of party/fundraiser, called #HARTBASH. Activities include a stylist booth run by local designers Stephanie Tait and Sabrina Thibodeau, a kissing booth by artist Marie Fox, spiritual readings, foot rubs and more.
Local artist Kelly Hill will be running the selfie booth. She emphasizes the importance of community that Connexion ARC champions.
“We’re excited to get people through the doors for a really fun time, while also supporting contemporary art in Fredericton,” said Hill.
The night also includes assorted live music, and a dance party later in the evening. According to the Facebook event page, the dress code is “glamour, glitter and all things vogue.”
The cost is 5 bucks cash entry, and the various booths are offering services via donation. The event is all-ages but liquor will be available for all those lovely lushes out there.
Tickets are for sale in advance at Cafe Loka and Cedar Tree, or at the door. CHSR is also giving away two free tickets during their program, The Lunchbox, on the day of the event.
